The purpose of this position is to drive commercial circulation sales through developing new and existing commercial circulation partnerships within the single-copy/retail and amenity circulation sales channels. The successful creative and entrepreneurial sales professional with represent Dow Jones & Company, Inc products (The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s) in TX, OK, AR & LA.
To be successful you will:
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive revenue and volume growth through new amenity business development.
Expand single-copy print sales within the wholesaler/distributor network through targeted account base growth and development of sales initiatives to efficiently increase circulation volumes.
Nurture relationships with retailers to secure optimal product display, merchandising position and point-of-sale placement. Identify and target events and seasonal traffic patterns to drive incremental sales.
Review competitor activities; devise and recommend programs to preempt competitor actions and respond to other marketplace changes that influence sales and market coverage.
Secure full compliance and activation with national brand agreements for targeted accounts in territory. Create awareness of and ensure conformity with contracted requirements to provide WSJ print and digital amenity offerings.
Working with marketing, develop a go-to-market plan to prospect and close commercial circulation partnerships within strategically targeted verticals.
Required Experience and skills:
Over 5 years of proven sales experience experience and internal/external relationship management in publishing/newspaper/media industry.
Experience of analyzing and strategically managing a geographic territory to realize maximum sales opportunities.
Strong relationship, interpersonal and communication skills. Superior organisational skills, with a solution-oriented approach to problems and attention to detail.
Strong presentation skills and ability to convey information using a communication style appropriate to the audience.
Understanding of internet and intranet applications. Intermediate skills in Google web-based applications. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint plus Salesforce experience is preferred.
