Dow Jones Product Marketing Director in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

Dow Jones’ Product Strategy & Marketing team is responsible for managing product roadmap, collaborating on new product development, and developing product positioning, packaging and go-to-market strategy; equip the global sales team with timely, accurate and engaging presentations, sell sheets, templates and playbooks in order to drive revenue; maintain an organized arsenal and effective internal communication channels to deliver these tools and resources to the global sales team; providing product-specific expertise on sales calls and solicit client feedback to improve product set; and managing barter partnerships and organize trade marketing efforts to promote key products to agencies and clients;

Within this context, the Product Marketing Director will lead a team responsible for positioning, packaging, and collateral production for new and existing products, and for providing product-specific expertise on sales calls. The Director themself will be also be directly responsible for supporting the sales team by managing client engagements as part of our beta partner program.

The Product Marketing Director will add value to Dow Jones via 3 core responsibilities

1) Leading a team responsible for positioning, packaging, and collateral production for new and existing products. Key outputs include:

  • General presentations

  • Sell sheets

  • Templates

  • Playbooks

  • Training sessions

  • Internal and external marketing communications

2) Providing product-specific expertise on sales calls

3) Support sales team by managing client engagements as part of our beta partner program. Key activities include:

  • Onboarding new clients

  • Developing comprehensive project plans

  • Managing project stakeholders, timelines and internal communication

  • Addressing client feedback/issues with urgency and customer service

Other responsibilities include: The direction, work assignments, and performance evaluation of team members.

Success for this role will ultimately be measured in two ways:

  1. VP, Product Marketing & Strategy, sales team and client satisfaction with product marketing knowledge, materials and services

  2. Client satisfaction with beta partner program experience

Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years marketing experience

  • Track record of advising business unit leaders on market expansion and new product opportunities

  • Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles

  • Proven ability to launch and scale new business processes

  • Comfortable working in highly matrixed organizations

  • Proven ability to translate vision into results with clear roadmaps, timelines and resource/budget management
