Job Description:
As Dow Jones looks to expand its footprint, build new audiences, and engage them where they are, we are seeking a Director to help us grow the secondary revenue stream that comes from partnership agreements with Apple, Facebook and Google across all Dow Jones brands. The Director will have a specific focus on driving success of Membership-related KPI’s including new subscription acquisitions, subscriber engagement and traffic.
You will be part of a trailblazing team, poised to get our world-class journalism in front of potential new subscribers. This function supports Dow Jones by managing the day-to-day relationship of partners, implementation of product integrations of the new partner agreements, and the coordination of product, news, and reporting with accountability across different departments, as it relates to Memberships initiatives. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing complex relationships and initiatives. This is a unique opportunity at the heart of Dow Jones, intimately involved in ensuring that Dow Jones strategy is aligned across groups, and that product execution matches the direction set by the Executive team.
Responsibilities:
Leverage our unique relationship with Apple, Facebook, and Google to drive Dow Jones’ Membership business goals
Develop and manage the KPI and Financial reporting of Traffic, New Subscription Acquisitions, and Member Engagement
Work within the OKR framework to grow revenue within Apple News, Facebook, and Google and articulate a clear funnel to Core Subscriptions.
Coordination with News Corp leads and Dow Jones teams for all subscriptions and memberships matters
Product Optimization of Subscriptions and Traffic
Create presentations representing the status of our off-platform efforts, complete with performance and opportunities to the Membership teams and other partners
Create timelines and project timelines with input from cross-functional teams
Own project roadmaps with accurate status and next steps and communicate to cross-functional stakeholders
Execute the strategy and implementation of co-marketing dollars in collaboration with Marketing leads
Help chair business reviews related to and/or involving Subscriptions and Memberships
For matters outside of subscriptions and memberships, partner with the New Ventures Partnerships team in the following areas:
News Corp coordination
Dow Jones coordination with Newsroom, Technology and Finance teams
Optimization of Product and Content and identifying innovation opportunities
KPI and Financial reporting
Business Reviews
Stay informed on all matters related to Advertising Optimization
Qualifications
Passion for Big Tech and the intersection between it and publishing
5+ years publishing industry experience a must. Experience working with Apple, Google and/or Facebook.
Strong financial skills, managing P&L, and working within OKRs (or similar) framework.
Proficiency in subscription marketing and web/app analytics. Entrepreneurial sense in driving vision and results for a brand new business within the larger company.
Prior experience in product management or leading of large cross departmental initiatives.
Experience articulating and navigating complex user flows and requirements.
