Job Description:

As a Business Development Associate , you’ll work directly with cross-functional executives and key leaders, both internally and with partners, on critical projects that drive MarketWatch’s revenue and audience objectives. You’ll collaborate to drive business-critical projects from beginning to end, manage the relationships with strategic partners, and develop a strategic perspective on the latest industry trends and market opportunities. You’ll work closely with cross-functional peers and leadership throughout Dow Jones.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist partnership consultations and executive relationships through integrations with strategic partners.

  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing operations of strategic partnerships, including executive escalations.

  • Structure and consult term sheets and agreements for business-critical partnerships.

  • Drive the development of strategic and quantitative market analyses to identify and prioritize business opportunities

  • Collaborate with a broad range of internal constituents (e.g. Product, Engineering, Sales, Legal, PR), to define, present, launch, and drive critical partnerships and organizational initiatives.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 1-2 years of business development experience, including participating in deal consultations

  • Experience working cross-functionally at various levels, both internally and externally, to drive successful partnerships and projects.

  • Experience around strategic partnerships in the advertising and/or media industry.

  • Ability to form and articulate contractual, technical, financial and strategic value points and strategic trade-offs with partners and internal teams. Ability to manage ambiguity and a rapidly changing business environment.

  • Ability to balance multiple high-priority initiatives and lead multiple time-sensitive partnerships and/or projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision, operating with an entrepreneurial, open-minded, collaborative, and committed approach to business.

  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills. Effective strategic acumen and analytical skills.
