Dow Jones Brand/Product Marketing Manager, Barron's Group in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

Barron’s Group (Barron’s, MarketWatch, Mansion Global, Penta) is seeking a Marketing Manager. This person will drive marketing projects for brand, events and conferences across the Barron’s Group portfolio. You will lead by example working closely with marketing managers to encourage top performance. The Manager will also work closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure operational excellence and grow skills of the team. Strong relationships with the team and cross-functional partners will be essential.

What are my accountabilities?

  • With input from the cross-functional team, lead the development of our brand and event briefs.

  • Create and manage development of brand creative for Barron’s Group.

  • Be a champion of the team along with the Director of Marketing.

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team with Editorial, Partnerships, Ad Sales, Legal, Sales and Marketing. Help facilitate communication and collaboration with internal partners.

  • Plan for and anticipate potential challenges and troubleshoot early to ensure each event’s success.

  • Ensure consistency and connection with the overall Barron’s Group brand and sub-brands, working with the Brand Marketing team.

  • Write briefs that inspire the creative team and drive best-in-class work. Partner with direct marketing/audience development team on marketing plans that leverage multiple channels, including social, video, mobile, display, search, content marketing, CRM, etc.

  • Create strategies based on competitive set, event trends, consumer analytics, audience reach, frequency of promotions, CPMs, impact of media and more.

  • Leverage consumer insights into acquisition and retention of members

What do you need from me?

  • The department’s success will be measured against the Barron’s Groups aggressive growth targets. Your success will be measured by the creativity with which you solve problems and by your accuracy in managing integrated campaigns, their success in regards to specific goals, and of course by how well you work with your team members and other departments.

  • A creative eye with an understanding of what constitutes good work and how to sell an idea into key stakeholders.

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, journalism or communications

  • At least 6 years experience in a B2C or B2B marketing role. Specific experience in media, publishing, product marketing and/or with events is highly desirable.

  • Ability to lead and mentor

  • Experience managing end-to-end marketing from analysis, positioning and planning through execution of successful integrated programs.

  • A mindset that is data curious, data literate and digital first, with the ability to balance the need for art and science.

  • Must be a entrepreneurial and self-starter with the ability to fully own and drive projects forward , thinking ahead to ensure event success

  • Analytical mindset with a passion for user behavior and a relentless drive for performance by optimizing marketing campaigns for maximum efficiency and effectiveness

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically

  • A strong communicator and presenter with outstanding writing skills

  • A zeal for marketing; passionate about media and/or events
