The Account Manager will be responsible for managing an existing book of business for The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s & MarketWatch group subscriptions. The successful candidate will discover, build and maintain strong relationships in their territory. He / she will work closely with internal teams to uncover new cross-selling opportunities and convey the value and benefits of The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s & MarketWatch products. This essential role contributes valuable revenue to the team and also retains and grows both revenue and circulation in the form of The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s & MarketWatch print and/or digital subscriptions.
The primary responsibilities of the Account Manager include but not limited to, can be found below:
Prioritization of upcoming renewals based on volume of subscriptions and revenue associated with the account.
Scheduling meetings with clients to discuss upcoming renewals.
Addressing clients’ questions and/or concerns leading up to the renewal.
Identifying upsell and/or cross-sell opportunities for all renewals.
Negotiating renewal pricing with client.
Contract creation and securing necessary signed approvals from the client.
Ensuring any requested client account changes will be submitted and processed as part of the renewal.
Follow-up with internal teams as needed to ensure timely and accurate invoicing to minimize customer service issues with the client.
Collaborate with internal Operations, Customer Service and Billing teams to troubleshoot problems and assume responsibility for customer satisfaction.
Provide regular feedback and participate in special projects where needed. This includes, providing market intelligence, suggesting custom strategies, communicating actions and sharing best practices with the team.
The successful candidate will possess:
Minimum 1-3 years sales experience. Telesales experience preferred. Strong needs analysis, negotiating and closing skills.
College degree (or equivalent), preferably in marketing, communications, or a business discipline.
Established track record of success exceeding sales targets and managing a business territory
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proven presentation skills. Includes ability to speak effectively with all levels of management.
Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Understands how to work with different people and different working styles across the organization and inside member companies.
Positive, energetic and dynamic self-starter.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Resourceful style; willingness to take initiative, manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
Sets a strong example for others by working collaboratively, and in a congenial, professional manner.
