Sales Development Rep (Inside Sales)
Overview of Position:
This entry-level sales candidate for OPIS, a Dow Jones Company, will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, prospect lists, discovery and individual research. A dynamic personality with a drive to reach decision makers is essential. The Sales Development Representation will be responsible for handling client support requests, prospecting, qualifying new sales leads, in addition to hunting whitespace for new logos.
What you will do:
Maintain a self-starter attitude while creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods
Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine the next steps for each prospect moving forward
Qualify all inbound leads for the sales team
Support sales colleagues on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts
Establish active communication and engagement with prospects to create new leads and sales openings
Collaborate with sales teams by creating innovative lead generation ideas
Become familiar with Base Chemicals product portfolio
Assist sales colleagues by responding to client support requests
Utilize Salesforce to track all client interactions
Provide Salesforce reporting metrics to sales leaders
Providing clients, both internal and external, with timely assistance as required to help build and cultivate prospect relationships in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
Helping to drive leads and online traffic with web-based activities and programs in partnership with Marketing function.
Other duties as assigned
4 years College Degree in Science or related technical field
Prior sales experience is ideal
Working knowledge of the Chemical industry is a plus
Flawless communication skills, both written and oral; public speaking experience is a plus
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and SalesForce; experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications is a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills and phone/email presence; must be able to deal with others in a pleasant manner and work under varying degrees of pressure and time constraints
Ability to work independently while still interacting within an integrated team structure
A team player that recognizes and contributes to the overall goals of the team
Excellent customer service skills.
Personal initiative and ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently and effectively
Demonstrated success in uncover business potential through pre-sales preparation work and with good understanding of the client’s needs to progressing lead
English (verbal and written) proficiency required
Limited travel unless occasionally for conferences / exhibitions but will not be more than 10-15% of the time when needed
