This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join Storyful. The role of Sales Manager is to drive and grow revenue with Storyful’s key publisher partners. Storyful works with the world’s largest digital publishers, news brands and broadcasters. Our products range from software-as-a-service style Newswire products to partnerships.
We are looking for a dynamic sales entrepreneur who is curious, client focused with a passion for journalism and in-depth knowledge of user-generated content, social media and digital video. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of building new business as well as growing business with existing clients. Above all else, we are looking for someone that is passionate about selling content and enthusiastic about the prospect of building a new, high-growth business.
As a key member of a growing successful team orientated sales force, you will drive and develop long term client relationships and lead negotiations alongside key stakeholders.
Consistently meet and exceed your revenue targets through renewals of annual contracts, upselling of new products and identification of new business opportunities
Prepare client negotiations, presentations and proposals for your portfolio
Identify revenue gaps and implement relevant strategies to achieve targets
Seek and identify new business prospects for the Storyful News division
Prospect, pitch and close sales actioning marketing generated leads as well as self-generating prospects in assigned territory
Maintain an awareness of competitor activity and make recommendations to the leadership team
Build and maintain client relationships to ensure high levels of sales service and a customer-centric approach
Actively participate in the building of sales products based on client needs
Provide management with weekly client updates and accurate sales forecasting
Open doors with key decision makers at publishers and media organizations
Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience favourable
Ideally 4 years experience in a revenue-focused sales role within the digital marketing/advertising or social software industry
Proven to thrive in a start-up environment
Proven record of prospecting, growing and managing revenue
Expertise in the digital marketing ecosystem, including but not limited to UGC, video, brand content, and social insights
Knowledge of licensing copyrighted content preferable
Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Google tool-set and other cloud-based business tools
An expansive network of publisher and media connections
Experience using a CRM system (salesforce preferable)
Strategic consultative solutions seller with an ability to influence decision-makers through informed conversations
Expert social selling and networking abilities
Ability to proactively build an extensive list of prospects
Attention to detail and the ability to manage time and client needs effectively
Exceptional communicator with business writing skills
A self starter able to partner for success with cross functional teams
Additional language desirable (Spanish)
Some travel may be required
